WHAT IS ON – SITE ELECTROCHLORINATION:
We manufacture Aqua Chlor -Gen TM i.e. Electro-chlorinator which produces Sodium hypochlorite on-site which will be use as disinfectant in many of application.
Sodium Hypochlorite, a strong oxidizing agent, is produced by the process of electrolysis of salt water. Electrochlorinator is used as an alternative to chlorine gas for disinfection of Domestic Water Supply, Cooling Towers, Swimming Pools, Power Stations for control of bio fouling, Disinfection of Ballast Water in Ships, Fire Water System, Fountain Water etc.
Sodium Hypochlorite will be generated on-site with the help of synthetic brine or seawater is very efficient in protecting the equipment from the growth of micro organic fouling and control of algae and crustaceans.
Portable model Electrochlorinators manufactured by SHIVAM are ideal for disinfection of water during disasters like earthquakes, Floods or Epidemics. Electrochlorinators are designed for rural and village 'point -of- use' disinfection of drinking water.

Conclusion:-
SHIVAM has made a survey for disinfection of water with respect to chlorine gas ,bleaching powder, readymade hypo chloride solution and its own Electrochlorination i.e. AQUACHLOR- GENTM .
According to our survey as shown in above tables operating cost of electrochlorination to treat per KL of filtered water with 2 ppm dosing for the flow of 2000 m3/day is US $ 0.001, for chlorine gas i.e. US $ 0.0064, for bleaching powder i.e. US $ 0.0102 And for readymade hypochlorite solution i.e. US $ 0.0098.
We have also carried out per year cost for maintenance and operating the plant which is only US $ 720 for electrochlorinator and for chlorine gas i.e. US $ 4608 which is US $ 3880 More than electrochlorinator and also about the nature of chlorine gas we know it is very dangerous and not user friendly for health .As far as safety is concern it is very corrosive in nature. It is also difficult to transport as it is very hazardous.
If we compare per year cost for maintenance and operating the plant with respect to bleaching powder it will cost US $ 18486 which is US $ 6674.4 more than our electrochlorinator. It is also having same characteristic as chlorine gas in nature it is very dangerous for health, very corrosive and inconvenient to transport.
If we compare per year cost for maintenance and operating for plant with respect to readymade hypochlorite solution it will cost US $7056 which is US $ 6336 more than our electrochlorinator. It is also having same characteristic as chlorine gas and bleaching powder in nature it is very dangerous for health, very corrosive and inconvenient to transport. |
